This week, the CW1 group became officially registered as a healthcare provider in Portugal with the ERS (Health Regulatory Authority). It is a formal step, but one with practical consequences for those who use the healthcare system.
The CW1 group was born out of a concrete problem. Patients' clinical records are scattered across services that do not communicate with each other, and this fragmentation comes at a high price: repeated tests and clinical decisions made without having the complete history at hand. Worse still, there is rarely anyone coordinating the case as a whole. Our technology unifies these records and reads the patient's entire journey, not just the episode of the day. From there, our medical team takes over case coordination, and the finance team designs solutions that the patient can afford. This is how the different departments of CW1 work together.
The result is a different way of providing care. When the history is complete and legible, it no longer makes sense to request the same test twice, and the final bill reflects that. The goal is not to do more. It is to do what is necessary, based on what is already known about each person, and to completely redesign the patient's journey so that it is faster and more effective.
"Portuguese patients will now benefit from European practices and a faster system," says Pedro Stark, managing partner of the CW1 group.
The registration came into effect last Friday, June 19th. In the coming weeks, we will share details on where and how patients can access CW1's services.
